Independent expertise, grounded in practice
Founder & Principal Adviser · FX · Rates · Treasury Governance · Africa-Linked Risk
Inetina Ebitonmor is Founder and Principal Adviser of IWE Advisory, where she helps CFOs and Treasurers of multinationals, their African subsidiaries, and African corporates see where Africa-linked FX, interest-rate, and liquidity risk threatens earnings and cash flow, then builds the policy, hedging strategy, and governance that protect them before it hits profit. Independent of banking mandates, her only mandate is the client’s position, so finance teams can act early rather than react after the damage is done.
A career in financial markets
She brings 20+ years of experience across financial markets, corporate risk and treasury, including 14 years in sell-side FX, rates and select commodity solutions at Standard Chartered and Standard Bank Group, after four years in asset management.
As Director, Financial Markets Sales, Client Solutions at Standard Chartered and Global Markets Sales Manager, Client Solutions at Standard Bank Group, she advised 50+ CFOs and Treasurers of multinational and large corporate clients on FX and rates solutions from USD 1 million to over USD 200 million across the Africa-China and Africa-Europe corridors, reducing client risk exposure by c.40% under macro-stress scenarios, so earnings and cash flow were better protected under stressed market conditions. She now brings the same discipline to clients from their side of the table.
Thought leadership and executive education
She writes Lessons from the Markets, a bi-weekly publication on financial risk, geopolitics and leadership under pressure. She speaks to CFOs, Treasurers, boards and young professionals across the UK, Africa and internationally.
Professional memberships and mentoring
She is a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, Women in Financial Markets (WIFM) UK, ACI The Financial Markets Association, the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA), the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), EPOC UK and Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ), among others. She mentors young professionals and women in finance, and founded Yellow Table Talk, a mentoring community for women and girls.
Recognition and education
The BBC UK featured her on International Women’s Day 2023 for her career in a male-dominated industry and her work empowering women and girls. She holds an MBA from the University of Kent.
